Washington Post cartoonist resigns over censorship dispute involving Jeff Bezos satirical cartoon

A nn Telnaes, a celebrated editorial cartoonist and Pulitzer Prize winner, has resigned from The Washington Post after the newspaper refused to publish her cartoon criticising billionaire media and tech executives, including Post owner Jeff Bezos.

The cartoon depicted them kneeling before Donald Trump, symbolising their alleged attempts to curry favour with the president-elect. Telnaes described this incident as the first in her tenure where her work was “killed” for its perspective, labelling it a “game changer” and a potential threat to press freedom.
