Taylor Swift endorses Kamala Harris for 2024 election

I n a detailed Instagram post published after the debate on Tuesday night, singer Taylor Swift publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for president and encouraged her followers to research the two candidates’ policies while also sharing her concerns about the dangers of AI misinformation.

The US singer, 34, revealed that a false AI-generated endorsement of Donald Trump was circulated, adding that it “conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation.”

This incident prompted her to clarify her own voting plans. “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz,” she stated, praising Harris because “she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos” and Tim Walz for his long-standing support for “LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body.”

Swift finally ends her post by urging her audience, particularly first-time voters, to register early and make informed decisions. Her stance is expected to galvanise her vast fan base ahead of the election and please Kamala Harris and the Democrats who did not seem to expect it.
