COVID levels have risen in the past two weeks, especially in northern England, with deaths also increasing but remaining relatively low. The Spring 2024 booster campaign, ending on June 30, has administered over 4.1 million doses, yet the immunosuppressed remain under-vaccinated.

▪ VARIANT GLOBALLY -- ANALYSIS

Key observations: Dynamic shifts in COVID-19 variant prevalence between 25 May and 30 June. KP3.1.1 increased from 7.7% to 8.4%, while KP3.3 and KP2.3 had significant presence at 7% and 6.9% respectively. KP.2 and KP3 decreased notably. Emerging variants like KP3.1.1 and KP.2.3 are rising, while JN.1.7 and JN.1 are declining.

In the United States, the CDC’s latest data shows that KP.3 now represents 33.1% of all COVID infections, KP.2 represents 20.8% of cases, LB.1 17.5%, KP.1.1 9%, and JN.1.16.1 only 4.4%
