J o Maugham, Director of the Good Law Project, has chosen to proudly stand against the cab rank rule, which compels barristers to represent anyone approaching them. He has come under attack from the Daily Mail for his pledge not to act for fossil fuel companies or prosecute those who peacefully protest climate change action. In a piece written for the Guardian, he explains why he made this decision. By taking this stance, Maugham hopes to make a powerful statement and bring attention to the issue of climate change.
