How much interest is there among the British public for the historic Brexit deal on Northern Ireland and the EU Single Market?


A fter months of negotiations, the finalised solution to the problem of the movement of goods between the EU Single Market and the United Kingdom via Northern Ireland – known as the ‘Windsor Framework’ – has been agreed upon following a meeting between the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

It appears that this agreement is set to pass without much contention, though according to a YouGov survey conducted since the announcement, there is surprisingly little interest in the issue among British citizens. Only 6% of respondents said they were following it “very closely”, while an additional 22% were “fairly closely” engaged with developments relating to it.
